Our Commitment to Them

The Barnyard Sanctuary, in Columbia, New Jersey, USA, was created in 2010 by Founder, Tamala Lester. As of year end 2022, over 3,500 farm animals have been saved, with 300 still calling us home. These numbers will only go up.

While our original intention was to help farm animals find new homes, we quickly saw the horrific cruelty that humans willingly inflict on these sentient beings, defying logic and the very definition of being ‘human’. We shifted focus to also include educating the public, advocating for animal rights and implementing programs that will help both people and animals, by creating a synergistic community of compassion.
